The Air Quality Sensor (AQS) monitors Particle Pollution (PM), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Sound level (dB(A)) and temperature/humidity that transferred to a central location (web server) over the GSM network for analysis.

Designer Systems developed the device hardware and software which includes the following features:

  • Low power WiFi Xtensa LX6 dual core processor design.
  • Lithium-Polymer backup battery with managed discharge / charge control and overair monitoring.
  • Particle Pollution (PM) measurement, logging and reporting.
  • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) measurement, logging and reporting.
  • Carbon Dioxide (CO2) measurement, logging and reporting.
  • Sound level (dB(A)) measurement, logging and reporting.
  • Temperature/humidity measurement, logging and reporting.
  • Quad-band 2G GSM or 4G LTE modem with onboard GNSS for GPS location and providing Thingstream connectivity for data upload.
