Pawtrack IV small animal tracking collar is the fourth generation product for the tracking a small domestic cats using the Global Positioning System (GPS) and both GSM and WiFI wireless networks. This new generation product is smaller, fully flexible, lighter and also features collar lost detection, movement detection, an audible warning device for lost collar location and has a detachable battery for convenient charging and fast battery changes.

Designer Systems developed the device hardware and embedded firware which includes the following features:

  • Ultra low power PIC18 microcontroller design.
  • Lithium-Polymer battery with managed discharge / charge control and over-air monitoring.
  • GPS/GLONASS positioning with fast time to first fix higher positional accuracy.
  • GSM and WiFI wireless communication.
  • Multiple operational modes to extend battery life.
  • Static GPRS IP address for server to collar initiated log retrieval sessions.
  • Movement detection provides automatic shutdown during animal rest/sleep periods.
  • SMS/GPRS activation of audible location beacon if collar is lost.
  • Light weight design.
