  • The pHAT-GPM is part of the Designer Systems Global Positioning System range of modules for the Arduino, Raspberry-Pi or other I2C bus platforms. It features a 99 Channel GPS/GLONASS engine with fast Time To First Fix (TTFF), 2.5m accuracy and 3 axis accelerometer all of which is fully accessable over the high speed I2C interface. Full on-board processing of NMEA sentances leaves the host platform to perform other tasks.

Description

The Designer Systems pHAT-GPM is a highly integrated Global Positioning System allowing your robotic application to determine its location on the earth's surface from both GPS and GLONASS satellites. Specifically targeted at the Raspberry-Pi user the pHAT-GPM features I2C communication to leave the serial [TX/RX] port free for other functions eg. debugging. GPS data received by the pHAT-GPM is stored within internal registers which are updated once per second and include: Latitude (i.e. vertical), Longitude (i.e. horizontal), Altitude (metres), Time & date (UTC), Heading (True), Speed (kilometres per hour) and Satellites detected. In addition to the pHAT-GPM features an on-board 3D Accelerometer which can be used to determine inclination for rover applications.
